π Halloween Safety First: Safety Before Candy!
Halloween is one of the most exciting times of the year for kids and families — costumes, candy, and community fun! But before we get caught up in the excitement, let’s remember the most important rule: Safety Before Candy!
𧑠Watch Over One Another
Whether you’re trick-or-treating with friends, siblings, or classmates, make sure no one is ever left behind. Older students can help guide and protect younger ones, and everyone should keep an eye out for kids who may be walking alone.
A safe community starts with awareness and teamwork.
π¬ Inspect Before You Eat
Before diving into your candy stash, always have an adult look it over. Check that wrappers are sealed and nothing looks unusual. It’s a small step that helps keep everyone safe. No matter how tempting that first piece of chocolate looks — patience pays off!
πΈ Stay Alert and Be Seen
Halloween night means busy sidewalks, dark streets, and lots of excited trick-or-treaters. Stay alert and visible:
-
	Walk, don’t run, between houses.
-
Use sidewalks or paths, and always cross at corners.
-
Wear shiny or reflective clothing, or add glow sticks and small lights to your costume so drivers can easily see you.
-
Carry a flashlight to help you see and be seen.
-
Keep your eyes open and your head up — safety starts with awareness.
π΅οΈβοΈ Stay Together — Stay Focused
During holidays and big celebrations, crowds can form quickly — and that’s when it’s easy for kids to get separated. Always have a meeting point in case someone gets lost. Stay alert, stay focused, and remember: safety is everyone’s responsibility.
π From all of us at Master Park’s Black Belt America:
Let’s make this Halloween full of laughter, candy, and community spirit — but most importantly, let’s make sure every child makes it home safely.
Be aware, be responsible, and be ready — because safety comes before candy!
